Identity Cardboard Sihouettes

 

Room 11 have been doing some identity art and we started creating cardboard silhouettes. This my face and I used cardboard and the back of Maths books. I love the outcome of mine. Enjoy!

GTS Tongan Feast

On Thursday, Glen Taylor School celebrated Tongan Language week by having a feast with Tongan food. In the morning the seniors helped prep the food then in the last block we had the feast. GTS also had some students perform which was amazing. Happy Tongan Language week!!

'Otai

Today's Tongan dish is 'Otai. 'Otai is a fruit drink that orignated in Tonga. Again our task was to create a recipe and shopping list. Enjoy!

Mon Instrument

Today we learnt about instruments that are from our cultures. We learnt about what they sounded like and what they are used for. Me, Wint, Khin Linn, Tracey and Sar Yar Chan learnt about the Saung Gauk. Here is my learning. Enjoy!

Panikeke

On Friday Room 11 finally got to get in the kitchen and create a dish. Room 11 made a dish which is Panikeke. Panikeke is an Samoan pancake which is sometimes with whip cream and jam. It was super fun to make and it was also super yummy. Enjoy!

The Samoan 'Umu

On Thursday Mrs Faalili made a 'Umu for the whole school. We also did the work for the 'Umu. In the afternoon after everything was ready we had a kava ceremony. After the ceremony we got to have a taste of the 'Umu. I was super honoured to be apart of the ceremony.

Pani Popo

For Wednesday Room 13 made Pani Popo. Pani Popo is a Samoan dessert. While Room 13 was cooking Room 11 and Room 12 did research on the Pani Popo. Again we had to create a recipe and a shopping list. Enjoy!

Koko Alaisa

For Samoan language week all senior classes celebrated Samoan language by cooking Samoan food. On Tuesday Room 12 made Koko Alaisa. While room 12 were cooking in the kitchen room 11 and room 13 did research on Koko Alaisa. The task were to create a recipe and make a shopping list. Here is my work. Enjoy!
