Sketch of our upcoming art

Today, Khin Linn and I created a sketch of our painting that we are planning to recreate for our upcoming Art Exhibition. We did this on a A3 paper and used felts with water. This is what it would sort of look like but we are planning to add people. 

Artist Studies

 

For Term 4, Room 11's focus for Art Exhibition is creating creations by cultural artists. Before we create anything we must learn about the art, Khin Linn and I decided to create a painting from a Burmese artist. Here is our plan! 

Identity Cardboard Sihouettes

 

Room 11 have been doing some identity art and we started creating cardboard silhouettes. This my face and I used cardboard and the back of Maths books. I love the outcome of mine. Enjoy!

What's important to you?

Today's LCS work was about "What's important to you?". The questions that were given to us were  if we had to leave what are some things we'd pack, some non-physical thing we would miss and what would we miss most about being away from our homes. Enjoy!

For LCS today we had to create a family tree. I kept mine simple with only my parents and stepsister. I included where the were born and grew up and where they are now. Enjoy!

Today's LCS task was to create a google drawing with your personal details about yourself. Here are more facts about me that you may of not know. I've included my hair and eye color, culture, dislikes, likes, age, name, parents name and thing I could do better with things I'm good at. Enjoy!

Mon Instrument

Today we learnt about instruments that are from our cultures. We learnt about what they sounded like and what they are used for. Me, Wint, Khin Linn, Tracey and Sar Yar Chan learnt about the Saung Gauk. Here is my learning. Enjoy!

Matariki Sisters

Room 11 is currently learning about Matariki since the Maori New Year is this month. We are given tasks to complete and the first task I completed is about the Matariki Sisters. This task required us to give a description about each of the Matariki sisters and what their names mean. 

Ancient Egypt Art Plan

On Monday Room 11 decided we wanted create crafts. We looked at different art ideas that related to the Ancient Egypt then choose which one we wanted to create. My group wanted to create Cake Pops which would have Ancient Egyptian designs on them. Here is our plan to create those Cake Pops. 

Nile River Lesson

Today Room 11 had a lesson on the Nile River. The Nile River is the longest river in the world and is located in Africa. We looked at what the Nile River used for and completed tasks that would be about the Nile River. Here is my work. Enjoy!

Ancient Egypt Research

On Tuesday, Room 11 look at a video which explains a lot of the Ancient Egypt civilization. We then had to answer the questions that were given. Once we have completed answering the questions we went to do our connections task. Room 11 thought of New Zealand and thought of some significant historical events that helped shaped NZ. We then picked a events that happened in New Zealand and present our finding on it. Enjoy!

Escape the Tomb

This week Room 11 is going to look at the Ancient Egypt civilization. For Monday we complete a task which required us to escape the tomb. In the task you had to answer questions that will help you escape. Once you have completed the task you are free. Here is my slide where my answers are. 

Pani Popo

For Wednesday Room 13 made Pani Popo. Pani Popo is a Samoan dessert. While Room 13 was cooking Room 11 and Room 12 did research on the Pani Popo. Again we had to create a recipe and a shopping list. Enjoy!

Koko Alaisa

For Samoan language week all senior classes celebrated Samoan language by cooking Samoan food. On Tuesday Room 12 made Koko Alaisa. While room 12 were cooking in the kitchen room 11 and room 13 did research on Koko Alaisa. The task were to create a recipe and make a shopping list. Here is my work. Enjoy! 

Italy Delicacies

Here is today work for Connections. It is the same as yesterday's work but a different country. I picked Italy because I was really interested of the food they eat. Enjoy!

Mon Delicacies

This week's focus is food from our Culture. The task to find 7 to 10 delicacies within our culture and write down what the ingredients are to make those delicacies. It was super fun to share the food I eat in my culture. Enjoy!
